The Faithful Universal Church is aware of the increase in diabolical activity

As featured in Slaying Dragons - 2nd Edition, the International Association of Exorcists stated, in 2018, that the sharp increase in demand for exorcisms and deliverance worldwide represents a "pastoral emergency."  The number of Wiccans in the US, in a recent survey, has risen to the same number as that of Presbyterians.  According to exorcists, the rate of diabolical influence in people's lives is also increasing, in all forms, from diabolical obsession to oppression and even possession.  While still rare, the numbers are increasing.

What is one of the reasons for this?  The dive in Christian religious practice combined with the rise in occultic curiosity is one.  Take the Ouija board for example.  You can find it at Walmart and Target and Barnes&Noble among others.  Exorcists are pretty (i.e. completely) unanimous about the dangers of playing with a Ouija board.  The calmest critique that I found from an exorcist was that, while you probably won't get possessed by playing with a Ouija board, you are very likely to sense a presence hovering around you for a while afterward.  Hmm, that's not exactly reassuring for all the Ouija board fans.  Combine that statement with what exorcists say about visiting diabolically infested homes in a state of mortal sin, and you'll see why its diabolically dangerous to play with a Ouija board.  But I digress...

Another reason is both the presence, and the tolerance by Christians, of abortion and acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle.  Divorce, abortion, homosexuality, pornography, violence in entertainment, vice, indulgence, etc. - all of this is widespread and rampant, if not fully infused into society worldwide.
Cardinal Caffarra, speaking at the Rome Life Forum

An article from the National Catholic Register in May of 2017 featured Cardinal Caffarra.  Written by Edward Pentin, the article begins by stating:
Satan is hurling at God “the ultimate and terrible challenge,” to show he is capable of constructing an “anti-creation” that mankind will be deceived into thinking is better than what God has created, Cardinal Carlo Caffarra has warned.
Read a few more paragraphs of the article:
Cardinal Caffarra, who helped found the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family in 1981, began by explaining that human history has always been a tale of confrontation between two forces: “The force of attraction,” that is the wounded Heart of the Crucified Risen One, and the “power of Satan,” the father of lies, the “murderer from the beginning” who seeks to extinguish truth in the heart of man.
This area of confrontation, the cardinal continued, is being fought in an interior and exterior dimension: within both the human heart and human culture.

He made clear that the Lord’s force of attraction “can only take effect on those who ‘are from the truth’ — those “profoundly available to the Truth, who love the truth, who live in familiarity with it.”

But “there is no truth” in Satan, he added, who seeks to kill truth in the heart of man by “inducing” him to unbelief. He is constantly refusing the truth; his action in society is to oppose the truth. “Satan is this refusal,” the cardinal remarked. “He is this opposition.”
Satan is therefore always working against the Lord’s strong force of attraction to Himself, seeking to “neutralize” it. And this battle within the human heart becomes manifest in society and culture, leading to “the culture of the truth and the culture of the lie.”
What do we take from this?  There is a reason for my writing of Slaying Dragons.  There is also a reason why it is both so interesting to people and so helpful.

"Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith."
I Peter 5:8-9
